Paraeducator Training Certificate

Paraeducators provide day-to-day support for students with special needs, Paraeducators play a valuable role in meeting student's needs.

Topics Covered:

• The Roles and Responsibilities of Paraeducators
• Introduction to Early Childhood Education
• Mandated Reporter
• Working with English Language Learners
• Behavior Intervention & Classroom Management
• How to apply for jobs, including resumes and interviewing skills
• Preparation for the Paraeducator ESSA Test

Class meets T/TH 12:00-2:00PM

Recommended Pre-Requisite:

• CASAS Reading Score Level 5 or 6 (ESL students may be co-enrolled in ESL and Paraeducator Training)
• Basic Computer Skills
• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• FCAS offers ESL, Computer Basics, and High School Diploma/Equivalency classes.
