Paraeducator Proficiency Exam
The Paraeducator Examination is offered on a regular basis at the adult school:
- The two-part multiple-choice exam covers math and English Skills.
- Pre-registration is required.
- Testers must bring a valid photo ID (with birthdate) to testing.
- The test is administered in the school office. Testers must request noise-canceling headphones, if needed.
- Test results and certificates will be mailed. It can take up to 7 days to receive results.
District Proficiency Exam Study Material
Paraeducator requirement can be met by completion of ONE of the following:
- Paraeducator Proficiency Exam Certificate (Meets ESSA standards)
- California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
- Completion of two years college (48 semester units) or A.A. degree (or higher)
