Paraeducator Proficiency Exam

The Paraeducator Examination is offered on a regular basis at the adult school:

  • The two-part multiple-choice exam covers math and English Skills.
  • Pre-registration is required.
  • Testers must bring a valid photo ID (with birthdate) to testing.
  • The test is administered in the school office. Testers must request noise-canceling headphones, if needed.
  • Test results and certificates will be mailed. It can take up to 7 days to receive results.

District Proficiency Exam Study Material

Paraeducator requirement can be met by completion of ONE of the following:

  • Paraeducator Proficiency Exam Certificate (Meets ESSA standards)
  • California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
  • Completion of two years college (48 semester units) or A.A. degree (or higher)
